Short CV:

Michael Zürn is Director of Global Governance at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). Moreover, he is Professor of International Relations at the Free University of Berlin. His work is on the emergence and function of International Institutions and Organizations and their effect on global political order. Michael is member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and, since 2014, member of the Academia Europaea. From 2004 to 2010, he served as Founding Dean of the Hertie School of Governance. Previously, he was Professor of International Relations at the University of Bremen for ten years and Director of the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies. From 2002 to 2004 he was director of the Collaborative Research Center "Transformations of the State" (TranState) at the University of Bremen. Michael has been visiting professor at the Central European University Budapest and Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
